This rare, stunning primitive gargoulette is from the early 19th Century and it has the most beautiful pinched spout, not a style that is seen very often so it really is unique. The pot is made from a dark brown and red clay which I believe is achieved by the use of manganese. It originates from southern France.
It has a gorgeous shape with a lovel bulbous belly and it is not too big or too small and will sit happily on a shelf or on a table top. Stunning filled with twigs or blooms.
29cm high and 31cm across
The pot is perfectly imperfect in our eyes. There is a small amount of damage to the top of the pinched spout but we don't feel that detracts from this rare piece. I have never seen another one!
